World Letter Writing Day
Happy World Letter Writing Day and Happy September!
On the 1st September we celebrate World Letter Writing Day! Founded in 2014 by Richard Simpkin it's a chance to take a moment to write something thoughtful to a friend or loved one. I am going to celebrate by hand writing a letter to each of my mail club members this month and really take the time to send something heartfelt.
Here are some ideas for letters you could write if you'd like to join me:
Write a letter to a family member and tell them about your Summer.
I love the idea of a little family newsletter! Seeing photos in print with explanations is so fun and feels so much more special somehow than on a screen.
Write a letter to someone who has done something nice for you and thank them.
Even if it's something small it always feels so nice to be appreciated!
Write a letter to your future self and post it!
I love this one - write a letter to yourself with words of encouragement or affirmations or just about how things are right now and then post it to yourself to receive later!
Write a letter to someone you admire.
This one might be tricky if you admire someone like George Clooney but if you can find some contact details send a fan mail!
Write a letter to your local council/MP about something you feel passionate about.
A little more serious but it's so good to get involved with your community issues and things that you feel need addressing and things won't change if we don't try!
